The Scotland’s Colleges ICT Community of Practice Annual Conference was held on Tuesday 23rd March 2010 in Glasgow. The theme of the conference was described as:

n the current challenging economic climate, there is an increasing focus on efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and ensuring value for money. New campus developments and collaborative ventures between institutions and sectors offer opportunities to address this challenge.
The ICT community has considered and implemented a variety of approaches to enhancing service delivery and ensuring value for money, including virtualisation, cloud computing and outsourcing. This conference continues to develop this theme and to provide delegates with a further opportunity to consider options and approaches that can support the maxim of ‘delivering more with less’.

Google Apps was extremely well recieved by the delegates and represents and opportunity for cost reduction while embracing innovation from Google.
