Click the New button at the top of the Recent Sales Invoice Plan Templates view.
Firstly enter the Sales Invoice Plan Template Name
Fill out Number of Periods depending on how many invoices will be required.
In the Sales Invoices Plan Type drop-down menu select Periodic (if the same amount is going to be repeated over a certain number of invoices) or Milestone (if the amount to invoice is going to be irregular over a certain number of invoices)
If the selected type is Milestone, please note that you will have to assign Sales Invoice Plan Template Line Items (please follow Step 9 to Step 13) before activating the Sales Invoice Plan Template.
Enter a value in the Number of Periods field to indicate how many invoices are needed.
Use the Frequency drop-down menu to indicate the rate at which the invoices drafts are to be generated.
If the selected type is Milestones, Sales Invoice Plan Templates Line Items have to be added to the record before activating the Sales Invoice Plan Template.
In the Sales Invoice Plan Template record, navigate to the Sales Invoice Plan Templates Line Item related list and click the New button.
The Sales Invoice Plan Template name will be auto-filled with the value saved on the record. Alternatively, click the lookup button to view a list of Sales Invoice Plan Templates stored
Assign a value in the Percentage field. Before activating the Sales Invoice Plan Template, if the Plan Type selected is Milestone Sales Invoicing, the total percentage must be equal to 100% by adding line items
Repeat Step 10 –> Step 12 for each line item
Return to the Sales Invoice Template record and tick the Active checkbox.
